Hand-Held Fan untuk Mengurangi Sesak Napas pada Pasien Kanker Paru

Abstract
Sesak napas merupakan gejala subjektif yang sering dialami oleh pasien kanker paru yang dapat menimbulkan ketidaknyamanan, kecemasan dan penurunan kualitas hidup. Terapi farmakologi diberikan kepada pasien namun dapat mengakibatkan efek samping yang merugikan. Untuk itu, penggunaan terapi non-farmakologi seperti hand-held fan (HHF) merupakan tanggung jawab perawat dalam mengurangi penggunaan obat sesak. Berdasarkan hasil bukti ilmiah atau evidence based nursing (EBN), HHF adalah terapi modalitas menggunakan pendekatan palliative care yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengurangi sesak napas pada pasien kanker paru. Penerapan EBN menggunakan critical review dan pelaksanaannya menggunakan model Stetler. Sehingga metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu one-group pre test-post test. Penerapan EBN ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keefektifan hand- held fan untuk mengurangi sesak napas pada pasien kanker paru. Sesak napas diukur menggunakan Modified Borg Scale (MBS). Penerapan EBN dilakukan kepada 6 orang pasien dengan kanker paru. Hasil penerapan EBN menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi HHF dan penggunaan pernafasan diafragma efektif dalam mengurangi sesak napas pada pasien kanker paru (p=0,026; p<0,05). Hand-held fan dapat diaplikasikan perawat sebagai intervensi manajemen non farmakologi untuk mengurangi sesak napas pada pasien kanker paru.
