Abstract

Prevalensi stunting sebesar 19,8% pada tahun 2024, sesuai target WHO.

Abstract: Stunting is still a public health problem in Indonesia and has an impact on early childhood growth and development. The direct causes of stunting due to nutritional intake include diet and infectious diseases, indirect causes, namely food security, parenting including hygiene behavior, environmental sanitation and health services, and basic causes, namely education, poverty, disparity, socio-cultural, government and politics.  The prevalence of stunting is 19.8% by 2024, according to the WHO target. Although 1000 HPK is the main focus of most studies, children aged 2-5 years are still vulnerable to stunting. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and stunting in preschool children at PAUD mother’s love in Sumber Agung by 2025. The methodology of this study was  a cross-sectional study conducted on 45 children. Nutritional status was evaluated using body mass index for age (BMI/U) and indicators from KMS/KIA, while stunting was measured using height for age (TB/U). The data were analyzed using the chi-square test and were equipped with Monte Carlo. The results of the study found that most children have good nutritional status (89%) and normal height (84.5%). There was a significant relationship between nutritional status and stunting (p < 0.05). However, some children with good nutritional status still experience stunting, which indicates the role of other factors beyond nutrition.  Nutritional status is significantly related to the incidence of stunting in preschoolers, so a comprehensive intervention is needed that includes nutritional aspects and other supporting factors.
